“I engaged Theresa (Terry) Shinabarger on behalf of my brother for whom I have POA because of his stroke and dementia induced cognitive decline.  My brother’s story is not unique as he was a victim of fraud years ago and the person who forged his signature for a student loan was able to deceptively hide all correspondence from the Dept. of Education for years.  When the forgery was brought to light, we asked Terry to confirm the signature on the loan document had been forged.
I was astounded by her grace, professionalism and patience in walking me through the process of fraud and her willingness to work with Tom and me financially.  She is an extraordinary person, yet humble particularly in light of the length and detail in her Curriculum Vitae.  Additionally, she made herself available to me and communicated well with me through the process.
I did a thorough search of East Tennessee and found no other forensic handwriting specialist with an acceptable fee schedule particularly with her expertise.  When she was able to prove the signature on the loan document was NOT my brother’s, I informed Terry that she brought life back into the eyes of my brother whose mind has been dulled and darkened by dementia.  We do feel that the Lord led us to Terry through His Wisdom and we are and will continue to be eternally grateful.

We hired Theresa (Terry) Shinabarger to help us with an unfortunate situation where a lady living in our friends house (he passed away)  tried to fake the signature on a Will to obtain a property that was not rightfully hers. We sent her the Will and a number of known handwriting samples from the gentleman that passed away.  She determined in a very short period of time that the handwriting and signatures on the questioned document were NOT the gentleman’s that passed away.  Within a couple weeks, she sent us a full report, color coded and showing the differences between the Questioned and Known signatures.  The judge in the case threw out the will as being forged.  Terry’s report was so thorough that she never had to come to court to defend her findings. I HOPE I never need her services again, but I would use her again in a heartbeat.

Theresa (Terry) Shinabarger is professional, responsible, and experienced in both the handwriting field and real estate.  I took her Certified Handwriting Analysis class.  She is an excellent teacher.  Her course materials are very professional and detailed.  She spends as much time with each student as the student requires to fully understand and utilize the information.  My use of her profiling techniques has allowed me to better understand the personalities of buyers and sellers.
